Chelsea vs Everton Preview and Prediction: Chelsea to Win 2-0 at 13/2
Chelsea and Everton will play in the Round of 16 of the League Cup at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, 25th October.
The teams have played twice this year. In April Chelsea beat Everton 0 – 3 and then Chelsea won again, 2 – 0, in August.
Chelsea have reached this round after defeating Nottingham Forest 1 – 5. At present they are fourth in the Premier League with 16 points having won 5 games, drawn 1 and lost 3.
Everton reached this stage after defeating Sunderland 3 – 0 in the last round. They are currently eighteenth in the Premier League with 8 points having won 2 games, drawn 2 and lost 5.
While Chelsea’s title defence is not going completely to plan, they looked good over the weekend and have the home advantage in this game. Everton have had a terrible start to the season and earlier this week manager Ronald Koeman was sacked by the club’s board. Everton will be desperate for a good result but based upon their recent form it seems highly unlikely.
A 1 – 0 or 2 – 0 win for Chelsea is the most likely outcome with Boyle Sports and Paddy Power both offering odds of 13/2 on both results.
Paddy Power Sport Odds: 4/11 Chelsea to Win, 7/2 for a Draw and 6/1 Everton to Win
Boyle Sports Odds: 4/9 Chelsea to Win, 10/3 for a Draw and 6/1 Everton to Win
