Lithuania vs England Preview and Prediction: England to Win 2-0 at 6/1
Lithuania and England will play their next World Cup qualifying game at the Vilniaus LFF Stadium on Sunday, 8th October.
The teams played the reverse fixture in March this year and England won 2 – 0. Before that, they played in December 2015 and England won that game 0 – 3. This match will be the fourth meeting between the teams.
Lithuania are currently fifth in qualifying Group F with 6 points, 8 point below Slovenia. Last week they drew 1 – 1 with Malta and in September they lost 4 – 0 to Slovenia and 0 – 3 to Scotland.
England are top of qualifying Group F with 23 points, six points above Scotland. Last week they defeated Slovenia 1 – 0 and in September they defeated Slovakia 2 – 1 and Malta 0 – 4. Despite winning last week, England failed to impress but the victory did secure their qualification. As a result, they are likely to come into this match full of confidence. Lithuania will be playing to please their home crowd but will most likely struggle to overcome their visitors.
A 2 – 0 win for England is the most likely outcome with Paddy Power and Boyle Sports both offering odds of 6/1.
Paddy Power Odds: 8/1 Lithuania to Win, 7/2 for a Draw and 1/3 England to Win
Boyle Sports Odds: 17/2 Lithuania to Win, 15/4 for a Draw and 1/3 England to Win
