Bulgaria vs France Preview and Prediction: France to Win 2-0 at 5/1
Bulgaria and France will play their next World Cup qualifying game at the Vasil Levski Stadium on Saturday, 7th October.
The teams played the reverse fixture in October last year and France won 4 – 1. Before that they played in 1996 and France won that game 3 – 1. The last time Bulgaria beat France was in 1993 when they won 1 – 2.
Bulgaria are currently fourth in qualifying Group A with 12 points, one point below the Netherlands. Last month they lost 3 – 1 to the Netherlands and in August they defeated Sweden 3 – 2. France are top of qualifying Group A with 17 points, one point above Sweden. Last month they drew with Luxembourg and before that they defeated the Netherlands 4 – 0.
Despite France’s surprise draw with Luxembourg in their last qualifying match, they are generally a far superior team. Bulgaria will be eager to try and claim some more points to try and secure qualification and will most likely give France a good run for their money, however, France’s great experience is likely to payoff.
A 2 – 0 win for France is the most likely outcome with Paddy Power and Boyle Sports both offering odds of 5/1.
Paddy Power Odds: 14/1 Bulgaria to Win, 6/1 for a Draw and 1/7 France to Win
Boyle Sports Odds: 14/1 Bulgaria to Win, 5/1 for a Draw and 1/5 France to Win
