England vs Slovenia Preview and Prediction: England to Win 2-0 at 5/1
England and Slovenia will play their next World Cup qualifying game at Wembley Stadium on Thursday, 5th October.
The teams last played each other in October 2016 and the game ended in a goalless draw. Before that they played in June 2016 and England won the game 2 – 3.
England are currently top of qualifying Group F with 20 points after eight games. They are five points above Slovakia. Most recently, they defeated Slovakia 2 – 1 and before that, they beat Malta 0 – 4.
Slovenia are third in qualifying Group F with 14 points and are tied for points with Scotland. Last month they defeated Lithuania 4 – 0 and before that lost 1 – 0 to Slovenia.
England has a comfortable lead at the top of the ground and are probably going to be confident going into this match, especially playing on home ground. Slovenia needs points to stay in the top half of the group and are sure to be determined to cause their hosts as many problems as possible. As a result, it should be a highly competitive match.
A 2 – 0 win for England is the most likely outcome with Paddy Power and Boyle Sports offering odds of 5/1 and 9/2 respectively.
Paddy Power Odds: 3/10 England to Win, 7/2 for a Draw and 17/2 Slovenia to Win
Boyle Sports Odds: 1/3 England to Win, 15/4 for a Draw and 9/1 Slovenia to Win
