Manchester United Eager to Sign Perisic This Week
Manchester United are trying to push through a deal for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic before the team head to China on a preseason tour next week.
The two teams are still to agree on a valuation of the winger but Jose Mourinho has said that he will be the next summer arrival at Old Trafford.
Inter are refusing to lower an asking price of €55 million for the player while United are thought to value him at closer to €40 million.
Inter Milan will be flying to China on July 18 before they move on to Singapore on July 25. United are eager to complete a deal before the trip but they need the Italian club to compromise over the fee.
The team’s new boss, Luciano Spalletti, is eager for Perisic to stay at the club but earlier this week he said that the player has become “distracted” by talk of a move to United. Perisic is currently with Inter in a training camp and he is due to hold talks with Spalletti over the coming days.
Mourinho switched his attention to Perisic after he failed to make any progress in his bid to sign Willian from Chelsea and he is convinced that Perisic would like to move to United if they can agree on a fee.
Perisic moved from Borussia Dortmund to Wolfsburg for €8 million in 2013 and then signed for Inter in 2015 for €16 million.
