Ivan Perisic Set for Talks With Inter Boss Spalletti Over Future
Luciano Spalletti, the Inter Milan boss, has said that he will be speaking to Manchester United target Ivan Perisic about his future at the club.
It is thought that United are still eager to bring the Croatia international to the team this summer despite already having had two bids turned down by Inter.
Spalletti, who was appointed as the successor to Stefano Pioli in May, is keen to keep Perisic at the club but has admitted that the player could request to leave during the proposed talks.
“I will speak to everyone and, of course, for those who are 'distracted' there will be different words,” Spalletti said.
Spalletti said that he will be listening to Perisic and that the team needs clarity on his intentions. He also said, “It would not be nice for me to hear him say words like ‘I want to leave’.”
Beyond saying that he wants to hear what Perisic himself has to say, Spalletti refused to speculate much further about what will happen.
“In any case, I will say this: we are Inter and we can choose to make different decisions to the ideas of the players. I hope to have him in the side, I am counting on it and I am positive in that sense.”
Perisic moved to Inter from Wolfsburg in 2015 and had an impressive season over the past year contributing 10 goals and 5 assists. He has three years remaining on his current contract.
