Conflicting Reports Surround Gareth Bale’s Future
There have been reports that Gareth Bale may return to the Premier League with Manchester United if his current team, Real Madrid, are able to sign teenage star Kylian Mbappe.
However, following these rumours, reports emerged that Bale loves his life in Spain and has absolutely no intention of leaving Real Madrid to return to the Premier League.
Monaco’s Mbappe has become a key target for a number of Europe’s top clubs this summer and there are reports that Arsenal and Liverpool are amongst the teams trying to sign him, together with PSG and Real Madrid.
However, while the rumours continued to swirl, there were simultaneous reports that Real Madrid does not intend to let Gareth Bale leave the club, regardless of who they do or don’t manage to sign during this transfer window.
It is known that Jose Mourinho has admired Bale for a number of years. Furthermore, Sir Alex Ferguson tried to sign Bale as a youngster during his days at Southampton. On the other hand, there has been no suggestion from United that they are about to try and sign him.
Bale has now spent four seasons in Spain with Real Madrid after leaving Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the 2012-13 season for what was then a world record fee of £85.3 million.
Since joining Real Madrid he has won three Champions League titles, most recently when the team defeated Juventus at the Cardiff Principality Stadium at the beginning of last month.
