Chile vs Germany Preview and Prediction: Draw 1- 1 at 5/1
Chile and Germany will play in the finals of the Confederations Cup at the Stadion Krestovskyi Sunday, 2nd July.
The teams played earlier in the competition and the game ended in a 1 – 1 draw after an early goal from Alexis Sanchez for Mexico and an equaliser from Lars Stindl for Germany.
Neither team has ever reached the final of this tournament before. Germany is the youngest team in the tournament and were impressive in their semi-final defeating Mexico 4 – 1 while Chile managed to defeat Portugal 3 – 0 on penalties after full time ended in a goalless draw.
Chile are two-time defending Copa America champions and have knocked Argentina out both times to raise the trophy. Germany meanwhile is on a 14 game unbeaten streak and is building up to defending their World Cup title next summer.
Everything points towards a hard fought match between two strong teams. Much will come down to stamina and if it goes all the way to penalties then Chile have the advantage of experience. On the other hand, Germany have proven themselves a quality attacking side.
A 1 – 1 draw is the most likely outcome with Paddy Power and Boyle Sports both offering odds of 5/1.
Paddy Power Odds: 21/20 Chile to Win, 12/5 for a Draw and 12/5 Germany to Win
Boyle Sports: 1/1 Chile to Win, 12/5 for a Draw and 13/5 Germany to Win
