Portugal vs Chile Preview and Prediction: Draw 1- 1 at 5/1
Portugal and Chile will play in the semi-finals of the Confederations Cup at the Kazan Arena on Wednesday, 28th June.
These teams last met in an international friendly in March 2016 and the game ended in a 1 – 1 draw.
Portugal finished top of Group A with 7 points having won games against New Zealand and Russia and drawn with Mexico. Chile finished second in Group B with 5 points having drawn against Australia and Germany and defeated Cameroon.
Chile is ranked fourth in the world at present with 1422 points but will be feeling disappointed after two draws in the earlier stages of the competition. Portugal is ranked eighth in the world with 1267 points and have been consistently impressive over the last year including their victory at Euro 2016.
However, last summer Chile also impressed to win the Copa Centenario and didn’t concede a single goal in the final three knockout matches, including against Argentina. If they can produce a similar performance then this match could be extremely close and Portugal will certainly have their work cut out.
A 1 – 1 draw is the most likely outcome with Paddy Power and Boyle Sports both offering odds of 5/1.
Paddy Power Odds: 7/5 Portugal to Win, 21/10 for a Draw and 21/10 Chile to Win
Boyle Sports: 13/10 Portugal to Win, 9/4 for a Draw and 21/10 Chile to Win
