Manchester United Make ‘Important’ Offer for Morata

Alvaro Morata’s agent has said that Manchester United have made a “very important offer” for the Real Madrid striker.

Over the last few weeks there have been numerous reports linking United with the 24-year-old Spain international. The team are looking to bolster their attacking forces in order to compensate for the loss of last season’s top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Juanma Lopez, Morata’s agent, also revealed that free spending AC Milan are also interested in the player but said that Real Madrid have rejected an “unsatisfactory” offer from the Italian side.

Speaking to Calciomercato about Manchester United Lopez said, “It's a club with a lot charm, a very interesting option. I can say that there's a very important offer and the decision now rests with Real. I cannot tell (if an agreement is close), we'll see.”

In regard to AC Milan’s interest in the player Lopez said that there has been regular contact between the two teams until recently as “Quite simply, Real Madrid considered the offer from the Rossoneri unsatisfactory.”

Last week there were reports that Manchester United had a £52.5 million offer rejected by Real Madrid and it is thought that the team are looking for a figure in the region of £78 million for Morata. It is not known how much United are willing to pay for the player but these reports suggest that they have made a far higher bid.
