Serbia and Wales will play their sixth World Cup Qualifying match at the Stadium Crvena Zvezda this Sunday, 11th June.
The reverse fixture, played in Wales in November of last year, ended in a 1 – 1 draw. However, Serbia won both their previous meetings demolishing Wales 6 – 1 in September 2012 and then winning 0 – 3 in September 2013.
Serbia is leading qualifying group D with 11 points having won three games and drawn two. They are tied for points with the Republic of Ireland who are in second place. Serbia won its most recent international outing 1 – 3 against Georgia in March this year and prior to that drew 0 – 0 with the USA in January.
Wales is third in the group with 7 points having won two games, drawn one and lost two. They are tied for points with fourth-placed Austria. Most recently Wales drew 0 – 0 with the Republic of Ireland in March, their only international game since drawing with Serbia last year. The last time Wales won a game was a 4 – 0 win over Moldova in September last year.
