Ronaldo Calls Real Madrid ‘Incredible’ after Champions League Victory



After scoring two goals to help Real Madrid win the Champions League final Cristiano Ronaldo has called his team’s effort “incredible” The team decimated Juventus in a dominant second-half performance to win the final 4 – 1 after finishing level at half time.

Juventus will have been hopeful of winning the trophy for the first time in 21 years after a strong start to the game, but Real came out with guns blazing to become the first club in the Champions League era to win the trophy in successive seasons.

Ronaldo scored the first and third goals to help Real become champions of Europe for a record-extending 12th time. He has now scored 600 goals in all competitions of which 108 have been in the Champions League.

Speaking after the game Ronaldo said, “It has been an incredible end to the season by us. We are the first team to win it two years in a row and I scored two goals. It's another record for us and the players deserve it and so do I because I scored twice and I'm the top scorer in the Champions League. I prepared myself for this, you win the biggest prizes because of what you do at the end of the season.”

Ronaldo also thanked his manager Zidane for giving a half-time talk that inspired the team on to victory, “Zidane gave us a very positive half-time team talk and told us he really believed in us.”
