Chelsea vs Roma Preview and Prediction: Chelsea to Win 1-0 at 6/1
Chelsea and Roma will play their third game of the Champions League group stage at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, 18th October.
These teams have not played since the 2008/2009 Champions League when they played twice. Chelsea won the first game 1 – 0 and Roma won the second game 3 – 1.
Chelsea won their first two group stage games, beating Qarabag and Atletico Madrid. Over the weekend suffered a 2 – 1 loss to Crystal Palace having lost 0 – 1 to Manchester City before that. Roma drew their first Champions League game with Atletico Madrid and then defeated Qarabag in the second. Last weekend they lost 0 – 1 to Napoli but before that they defeated Milan 0 – 2.
Chelsea will be keen to maintain their perfect start to the Champions League and will be confident of doing so in front of their home crowd. Roma are more than likely to give them some problems, but assuming that Chelsea don’t dwell on their recent domestic losses, Roma are likely to struggle against the current English champions.
Paddy Power believes that a 1 – 0 win for Chelsea is most likely and is offering odds of 6/1 while Boyle Sports’ shortest odds are 13/2 on a 1 – 1 draw.
Paddy Power Odds: 8/13 Chelsea to Win, 11/4 for a Draw and 9/2 Roma to Win
Boyle Sports Odds: 8/13 Chelsea to Win, 14/5 for a Draw and 4/1 Roma to Win
