Chelsea vs Bayern Munich Preview and Prediction: Draw 1- 1 at 6/1
Chelsea and Bayern Munich will play in the International Champions Cup at The National Stadium in Singapore on Tuesday, 25th July.
Considering that these are two of Europe’s most successful teams it is surprising how rarely they have played in recent years. Their last meeting was in the Champions League final in May 2012 and Chelsea won it 4 – 3 on penalties after the game ended in a 1 – 1 draw.
Over the weekend Chelsea defeated Arsenal 0 – 3 in a friendly game that is bound to have boosted their confidence following their 2 – 1 defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup final a few months ago. After their Premier League dominance last year, Chelsea will be eager to show that they are still on top of their game.
Bayern Munich has had two disappointing results in the last week. Over the weekend they lost 0 – 4 to AC Milan and before that they lost 3 – 2 to Arsenal on penalties after the game ended in a 1 – 1 draw. The team will be desperate to pull themselves back together before the new Bundesliga season begins.
A 1 – 1 draw is the most likely outcome with Paddy Power and Boyle Sports both offering odds of 6/1.
Paddy Power Odds: 17/10 Chelsea to Win, 5/2 for a Draw and 7/5 Bayern Munich to Win
Boyle Sports: 13/8 Chelsea to Win, 9/4 for a Draw and 11/8 Bayern Munich to Win
